Strategy deck to executed content system

The Situation

RSF needed more than a social media calendar -- they needed a coherent content and digital strategy that could survive contact with a real publishing schedule, across multiple stakeholders with different opinions about what "on-brand" meant.

The Stakes

Without a documented strategy, every content decision was being re-litigated from scratch on every post -- slowing output and producing an inconsistent feed that undercut the brand's credibility with each new campaign.

The Approach

We built a strategy deck that functioned as an operating document, not a mood board -- content pillars, a cinematic grid system for feed consistency, and digital strategy principles that a content team could apply without escalating every decision back to us.

The Decisions

We built a cinematic grid system instead of a themed content calendar.

A themed calendar ("Motivation Monday," etc.) produces content that's easy to plan and forgettable to see. We built a grid-based visual system instead, so the feed reads as a considered whole when viewed at the profile level -- which is how most new visitors actually judge an account.

What we rejected: A themed calendar ("Motivation Monday," etc.) produces content that's easy to plan and forgettable to see. We built a grid-based visual system instead, so the feed reads as a considered whole when viewed at the profile level -- which is how most new visitors actually judge an account.

We wrote the strategy deck as a decision framework, not a set of finished examples.

Finished example posts get outdated and copied literally rather than understood. We documented the reasoning behind pillar choices and grid logic instead, so the team could generate new content correctly months after we were no longer in the room.

What we rejected: A deck of fully designed example posts ready to publish. More immediately useful, but it teaches imitation rather than the underlying logic -- and runs out the moment the examples do.

We finally have a website that showcases our work instead of hiding it. Every campaign feels intentional, and clients immediately understand the level we operate at.

What we learned

The cinematic grid system looked excellent in the strategy deck and took longer than expected for the internal team to execute consistently without our direct involvement -- a reminder that a system's real test is month three, not the pitch.
